In the days of Longsides and Bee Holes Turf Moor was home to some pretty ace old-school floodlights, looming large over the town, rising higher than the many satanic mill chimneys, drawing crowds in from the surrounding terraces – visible for miles around from the surrounding moors.

With modernisation of the Longside and Bee Hole end came arguably the most boring floodlight replacements imaginable, but these have thankfully also been replaced now, usurped by some really rather beautiful lights – elegant and tulip-like – beating hearts for a resurgent Burnley.
