Rightly regarded as a post-modern masterpiece in inner city stadium design, the Stadio Luigi Ferraris first came to my attention during Italia '90, when the Tartan Army invaded Genova for a World Cup game between Scotland and Costa Rica.

When Channel 4 started broadcasting live Italian football into British households soon after in the early 90's, many of us became hooked on the spectacle - the stadiums, the fans, the players, the kits. Perhaps the most instantly recognisable kit was that of Sampdoria, who shared the Luigi Ferraris with city rivals Genoa.

I've combined the two, using original detail drawings of the stadium, to create this minimalist graphic
